Sardinia is part of Italy and it is the second largest island of
the Mediterranean. Its territory is mainly mountainous; in the Cagliari
area the Punta Serpeddí and the Sette Fratelli mountains
are renowned among climbers. Despite this, the weather is fair in
winter and hot in summer. Rain is more common in the north of the
island, although 200-230 sunny days a year are almost guaranteed.
